What is general ophthalmology?
Ocular health must be given special attention. Indeed, neglecting eye problems and forgetting to have eye exams can cause irreversible damage to your eyes. Therefore, it is essential to consult a specialist quickly if any of the following signs affect you :
- Changes in your color perception or image sharpness.
- Physical changes in the eye or visible signs of infection.
- A narrowing of your field of vision.
- Distortions, noise or sudden flashes in your vision.
- Partial or total loss of vision in one or both eyes.
Note that general ophthalmology consultations are for the entire population, adults and children alike.
How does it work?
General ophthalmology consultations allow for the detection of both common and rare eye conditions. They are also essential for obtaining a prescription for glasses, contacts or treatment. It is therefore a clinical examination that must be performed regularly, regardless of your age.
At each consultation, the clinic’s doctors, accompanied by their teams, perform check-ups to determine the most appropriate personalized protocol for each of our patients.
During a general ophthalmology consultation, the doctor’s diagnosis aims to evaluate your visual performance through a series of tests. Your distance/near vision, light sensitivity, eye muscle balance, field of vision, contrast, relief and color perception are all tested.
